Day 1: Best of Phoenix
9:00 am: Walk 10 mins to Matt's Big Breakfast. Walk along Roosevelt Row Arts District and check out the murals, restaurants and gift shops. Most shops are locally owned on Roosevelt Row.

11:00 am: Walk to the Phoenix Public Library and visit the largest reading room on Floor 5 to get some photos.
​
12:00 pm: Heard Museum to experience the most important Native cultural museum in the US. You must check out the Indian School Exhibition.
​
2:00 pm: Walk back to the Hostel to rest, stop by Carly's Cafe for lunch or Safeway Grocery to make lunch at the hostel.

5:00 pm: Must visit the world famous Desert Botanical Garden to understand the unique beauty of the Sonoran Desert, Walk a short distance to the Hole In The Rock to see the sunset!

7:00 pm: Ride Share back to the Hostel or head over to the Pemberton, Lost Leaf or Churchill to have drink and listen to music!

Day 2: Celebrate Native Cultures in Arizona!
9:00 am: Roosevelt Row Arts District
Breakfast and/or coffee

10:00 am: Cahokia Cultural Space
One of the most important contemporary Indigenous cultural arts spaces in the US.
​
11: 00 am: S'edav Va'aki Museum (Formerly, Pueblo Grande Museum) Walk to lightrail and go to the only central city Native archaeological site. All of Phoenix sits on native land. Bring a lunch!
​
3:00 pm: Heard Museum to experience the most important Native cultural museum in the US. You must check out the Indian School Exhibition.

5:00 pm: Back to hostel to rest

8:00 pm: Fry Bread House for local native cuisine and night life

Sports
The Hostel is just 1 km away from 3 sports arenas. They often have "Cheap Seats"! Where to go and see a game live or to watch your favorite sport in a bar!

10:00 am: Breakfast at Welcome Diner
​
12:00 pm: Walk to City Center and walk around the impressive Basketball, Baseball and Concert Arenas. Take a tour of Chase Ball Park or go see a game that day.

6:00 pm: Best sports bar: Marjle's Grill or the Killer Whale Sex Club Bar

Day 3: Rent a Car! It's Worth it!
1 hour drive north of Phoenix. One of the most unique and special alternative living communities in the world. An architectural experiment fusing architecture and ecology = arcology. Take the tour and eat lunch! MUST SEE!
1 pm: Montezuma Castle National Monument
3:30 pm: Sedona and Red Rocks
Continue 1 hour and do a nice hike in the famous Red Rocks.
6 pm: See the sunset at one of the vortexes, then eat dinner.
8 pm: Drive back to the hostel in PHX.
Day 4: Arts Districts
The Phoenix Hostel & Cultural Center is located in one of the most exciting arts districts in the United States. The arts and cultural scene really started during political protest in 2009 as resistance to racist laws in AZ and continues today. Every month on the First Friday of each month Roosevelt Row and the downtown turns into a large city of arts and culture.

10:00 am: Walk around the Roosevelt Row Arts District and keep your eye out for the famous Black Lives Matter murals. Check out this video about the murals.
​
12:00 pm: Lunch at the Churchill. Churchill is a cool place to gather, eat, drink and shop at boutiques in PHX. Very Do It Yourself.

1:30 pm: Cahokia
3:00 pm: Phoenix Art Museum (Free on Weds after 3 pm)
5:00 pm: See what is happening tonight on Roosevelt Row Arts District. Check out the Downtown PHX calendar to keep up with what is happening today!
Our top picks for best galleries and art space within 10 mins walking distance: Modified Arts, Cahokia, SongBird Cafe, Pemberton.

Day 5: Best Scenic Drive
9:30 am: Drive 45 mins toward Apache Junction
​
10:30 am: Begin the Apache Trail Loop
This is one of the most beautiful and dynamic drives close to Phoenix. You will go through many historic sites, ghost towns and see breathtaking natural views. We recommend you bring plenty of water and some snacks.
​
11:30 am: Bring your lunch to save money or plan to eat lunch in Tortilla Flats.
​
5:00 pm: Return to the Hostel to rest.
​
8:00 pm: Walk or drive to Crescent Ballroom for live music or live event and dinner!
